Start-up grants give businesses a boost

Local businesses in the Winchester area are in with the chance of having their companies supported by Winchester City Council, which is demonstrating its economic policy through start-up grants.

The luxury baby skincare company Coco Bebe, based in Winchester, is among those businesses to have recently received part of the grant of £1000 that will help them achieve more from their respective companies in this financial year.

These start-up grants are given after assessment of companies. The scheme's primary aim is to bring some stability to businesses like Coco Bebe that have suffered drawbacks from the recession.

Winchester City Council, partnered with Business Link business advisers in the grant scheme, hopes the scheme will help stimulate business activity in Winchester and contribute to maintaining a healthy local economy.
